What makes Red Bull Ring feel like more than another race weekend.
Red Bull bought the dormant Österreichring in 2004, rebuilt it as the Red Bull Ring, and brought F1 back to the venue in 2014. The team's Austrian Grand Prix weekend is the closest thing on the calendar to a manufacturer home race in the modern era.
At under 70 seconds in qualifying, the Red Bull Ring posts some of the shortest lap times on the calendar. Just ten corners, three big straights, two heavy DRS zones — the layout favours raw power and front-axle stability under braking.
The wide white-painted run-off at turns 9 and 10 is famously easy to exceed. The 2023 Austrian GP set the modern record for track-limits deletions — over 1,200 across the weekend and 83 in the race alone.
