About Marcus
Marcus Ericsson is a Swedish racing driver and the 2022 Indianapolis 500 winner. After five seasons in Formula 1 with Caterham and Sauber that never produced a podium, Ericsson moved to IndyCar in 2019 with Schmidt Peterson, transformed by the switch in series.
His move to Chip Ganassi Racing in 2020 unlocked the level the F1 years had hinted at. A maiden win at Detroit in 2021 was followed by the Indy 500 victory the following year — the breakthrough that justified the entire mid-career reset. Ericsson's 2024 switch to Andretti Global reunited him with longtime engineer Mike Cannon and put him on a team rebuilding around its star drivers; the speed has never been the question.
Marcus Ericsson currently races for Andretti Global in the 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES, sitting P9 in the standings with 196 points. Track Marcus Ericsson's full season on the Grid Guy interactive standings.
